Blog assignment 1

1. How would you have explained the meaning of the term "ethics", before taking this class?
Before taking this class i would explain the term"ethics" as:the way you choose to live, your choice in conduct. Ethics are about making choices that may not always feel good or seem like they benefit you but are the “right” choices to make according to one owns belief . I feel like ethics are supposed to improve our lives and make us have good feelings.I sometime feel like ethics is a sore subject because they are so often poorly used, if used at all. In the end, it’s all about what a person understands and feels about ethics.

2. What are some of your deepest held values?
my deepest held values are what some may say is the golden rule of ethics which is Do unto others as you would have done to you. Coming up my mother, grandma and aunt would always tell me that. Then i really didn't pay it any attention but now i see, understand, and try to observe. Another value that is very deeply held is loyalty. If you are considered a friend or a loved one, i give my all, if they hurt,I hurt.... If I got, they got...... etc. and in a sense it goes back to the golden rule do unto others as you would have them do unto u..... even so i am very loyal person and a damn good friend!!

3. What are some main principles you try to live your life by?
the main principles i try to live my life by is to be GOD FEARING. Don't dwell on negativity, try to humble myself at all times and never think of myself as self sufficient because GOD made it possible. And to be grateful for all things

4. What moral qualities do you look for in others?
The moral qualities i look for in others would be honesty ,loyalty, and their level of care and concern. This is very important to me because they are key factors of a friendship. Dishonesty gets you nowhere and my grandma always say "if you lie, you'll steal" loyalty because if i got your back i sure want you to have mine. The level of care and concern because if they don't care about themselves and other how can they genuinely care about my well being.......self first!!

5. How were your values and principles developed?
my values and principles developed through the teachings of my closest relatives(mom, grandma, and aunt) watching how they carry themselves and what they believed in influenced me allot. Growing up i saw how strong they were and I loved that. I would also say religion played a part in that as well. God is their foundation!

6. How have your values and principles changed throughout your life so far?
My values have changed a little bit because life today is not how it was back then, each person have their own personal experiences which either makes them or breaks them. I use this as an evaluation, and i do what works for me and makes me happy. Each person knows what they want out of life, and the changes that need to made,if any at all. I can say this that my values and principles change from time to time based on what i have been through throughout my life. They sure aren't the same as they were when i was 17.....see where I'm going with this?
